Since I need to make partition of the disks for different system, I tried to find more information about disk partition.
Typical Linux systems often have three partitions:
1) for a file system mounted on "/" (the root directory). It can further have the patitions for /usr, /var, etc.
2) a smaller partition for the "/boot" directory,
3) and a swap partition.
For windows, the C drive is to usually hold the windows system, utilities, applications etc. The users' personal data will be held in other partitions, eg., D, E etc. Sometimes the recovery partition was also made by the computer service/sales.
